  2. I. EARNING MONEY.

  3. A. WHY must we work?

  4. 1. There is one Scripture that clearly states the REASON for working.

  5. a. We work so we can purchase our personal and family needs.

  6. b. We work so we will have to GIVE to others that are in need.

  7. B. Employment.

  8. 1. We should never work in any place or position which requires us to violate our godly PRINCIPLES.

  9. 2. The man should never allow his work to take his FAMILY time.

  10. 3. The man should never allow his work to take priority over his SPIRITUAL time.

  11. 4. God’s Word instructs us not to be LAZY in our working habits.

  12. 5. God’s desire is that we be the BEST at what we do.

  13. II. GIVING MONEY AWAY.

  14. A. Tithes.

  15. 1. “Tithe” simply means “TEN PERCENT.”

  16. a. In the Biblical sense, it is referring to “ten percent” of our INCREASE or income.

  17. B. Where is the STOREHOUSE?

  18. 1. The storehouse is our home CHURCH and ministry.

  19. 2. Our tithes are used to support the LEADERS who have given of their lives for the ministry of the Lord.

  20. C. Offerings.

  21. 1. The offering is not something we are obligated to give, but it is offered from our HEART, above and beyond the tithe.

  22. a. The term “giving” indicates a “gift,” and should be done freely, as an expression of the LOVE in our heart.

  23. 2. When we give, we ought to be merry about it, with JOY flowing over.

  24. 3. Contrary to the belief of many, giving benefits US – not God!

  25. 4. We should always have an offering when we come together on the SUNDAY celebration.

  26. D. The principle of SOWING and reaping.

  27. 1. Whatever we give to our church, we will receive the SAME value in return.

  28. III. SPENDING YOUR MONEY.

  29. A. Stewardship.

  30. 1. Stewardship is the MANAGEMENT of someone else’s affairs.

  31. a. We are only stewards of what belongs to GOD.

  32. 2. EVERYTHING belongs to God.

  33. a. He does require us to give an ACCOUNT of our stewardship!

  34. 3. Only the FAITHFUL will be given the higher responsibilities.

  35. Chapter SevenLOVE AND DISCIPLINE IN THE HOME

  36. I. THE HOME.

  37. A. Two Godly principles of a Christian HOME.

  38. 1. It is established upon the written WORD of God.

  39. 2. Godly LOVE reigns in the hearts of each member, providing a family environment of godly contentment.

  41. B. The PHYSICAL condition of the home.

  42. 1. Beware of the spirit of restlessness and DISCONTENTMENT.

  43. 2. Christians ought to be clean in appearance, and provide an atmosphere of…

  44. …CLEANLINESS in their home, regardless of their financial status.

  45. a. “Keeping the home” includes maintaining the house, providing a clean and healthy ENVIRONMENT…

  46. …for each family member, and all guests.

  47. C. The ATMOSPHERE of the home.

  48. 1. The godly home will have an inner radiation of spiritual VIRTUES.
