ACTIVITIES FOR COMMUNITY PMTCT • Capacity building of CBO/NGO on PMTCT • Participation in PMTCT campaigns • Home visits to pregnant women • IEC/BCC and awareness-raising activities • Meetings between districts to share best practices • Discussion groups organised on operational PMTCT sites between community agents and health staff • Support to increase collaboration between community agents and health services • Technical support to implementing partners

PMCT Innovative Activities • Pregnant women solidarity circles • Grandmothers’ strategies • Niches with men • Counselling and Voluntary Testing with couples • Inter district meetings • Dialogue spaces in PMCT operational sites • “Tableau lumière” for monitoring pregnant women and mother/child couple

  5. Challenges • Insufficient programmes integrating HIV/SRH/PMTCT • Disruption of rapid HIV tests kits • Reluctance of some pregnant women to get their HIV result tests • Reluctance of pregnant women to get HIV tested • Stigmatisation of pregnant HIV+ women

  6. PERSPECTIVES • Partnership building for HIV/SRH integration • Resource mobilisation to scale up HIV/SRH integration • Develop effective and appropriate strategies for the implementation of activities integrating HIV/SRH • Provide community agents with communication and audio visual materials • More awareness-raising targeting men for increased accompaniment of women • Strengthening the production of communication materials
