Faculty Advising • Student Comments + “Nice overview of planned schedules.” + “Faculty are very helpful in general.” - “Advisors should know more about relevant coursework.” - “Students have to have more choice on choosing their advisor.” - “I wish L&S CS had more 1-on-1 advising sessions.” - “Don't give too much help on courses--just come in and leave with your advising code.”

Faculty Advising • Student Comments about form of advising I: “I often felt judged in the group setting and afraid to talk to the professor about my issues.” I: “Group advising in an hour doesn't allow people to build a rapport with [professors] and get detailed answers for their questions.” G: “Hearing about other people's schedules and experiences helps.” G: “[Group advising is] way less scary.”

  13. EECS Research • Primary suggestion • Publicize and support research opportunities more. Students seem interested, but haven’t figured out how to get their foot in the door. This semester HKN hosted several “How-To” workshops, we plan to offer more in the future to help address this problem.
