  4. Hi-Flow® Technology Overview

  5. Three Stages of Coalescing

  6. Enhanced Partitioning The polymeric surface has a high affinity to the oil molecules and is saturated by the oil molecules through sorption. The oil wetted surface will greatly promote the partition phenomenon of water soluble organics into the oil phase, and subsequently removed with oil droplets by the on-going coalescing process.

  7. Hi-Flow Process

  8. Coalesced oil rising

  9. Recovered Oil through coalescing

  10. Oil removed from water; 72 ppm over one year equals 166,000 lbs One pound of “Hi-Flow” returns ≈600 pounds of oil 20,000 bpd Hi-Flow ≈ 250 pounds of media One pound of “X-Absorption” media absorbs at best 10 pounds of oil 20,000 bpd X-absorption media ≈ 78 pounds of media Media change outs per annual basis Hi-Flow ≈ about once per year X-Absorption ≈ 350 times per year Why coalescing media over absorption? 20,000 BPD Water Treating System

  11. “Excursions” Excursions are needed when conditions that raise the oil concentration in produced water effluent so that the water is out of compliance. The most immediate result is often an oil sheen!

  12. “Excursions” In cases were high water soluble organics are present you could be out of compliance with out seeing a sheen!
