  3. Agenda • Published data • Serving SDH nodes for • CSH • ISH • ISH Extn • Data • Process • Questions www.btwholesale.com

  4. Published Data • 5 files are produced • Postcode to Serving Exchange File (PSEF) • Supplementary PSEF • Serving Exchange File • DPCN file • SDH Node file • The files are available on the BTWholesale.com website www.btwholesale.com

  5. BT Responsibility CP Responsibility CSH Link CP CSH Building SDH node Postcode or GR Partial Private Circuit pricing - CSH CSH SDH serving node is determining by matching the postcode to the Main Distribution Frame using either the Postcode to Serving Exchange File or The Supplementary Post code to Serving Exchange file. The MDF from either of the files above is matched in the Serving Exchange file. Exceptions:- Where the postcode is not available, then the grid reference is used to determine the charging SDH node. Where match is to a PDH node, the nearest Serving SDH node is used www.btwholesale.com

  6. CP Responsibility BT Responsibility ISH Link CP CSH Building SDH node Footway Box Partial Private Circuit pricing - ISH ISH node is determining by matching the postcode to Serving SDH node where the footway box is sited. The SDH node is on the Advanced Capacity Forecast and the postcode is on the SDH node file. Exceptions: Where match of ISH is at a non SDH Serving Exchange, the nearest SDH node is used. www.btwholesale.com

  9. Partial Private Circuit pricing – ISH Extn Agreement with Industry required To use The CSH serving SDH node determination methodology or The ISH Serving SDH node determination methodology. In most cases, the Serving SDH nodes are the same. Difference in circuit pricing on ISH and CSH methodology Where the actual BT fibred Serving SDH node is different when compared with the determined SDH node from the postcode to MDF match or Where the footway box is not at the CP site for the PoH building and the postcode of the footway box has not been supplied. www.btwholesale.com

  10. Partial Private Circuits Pricing - ISH Extn Impact Using the CSH methodology: Pros Footway boxes within the same postcode area will calculated from the same SDH node. Cons CPs must provide the correct postcodes for all footway boxes NOT within the CP’s site. BT will use the CP site for calculation of the circuit otherwise. All CP circuit orders must have the correct postcode of the footway boxes to be valid. Where footway box postcode is not available, grid reference will be used to determine the nearest Serving Exchange node www.btwholesale.com

  11. Partial Private Circuits Pricing - ISH Extn Impact Using the ISH methodology: Pros All the postcode data reside within BT systems. CPs do not need to supply the footway box postcodes to BT. CPs do not need to supply the grid reference data to BT. Con Footway boxes within the same postcode area may be fibred from different Serving SDH node. Therefore comparing the Trunk and Term distances from different footway boxes although in the same area may not be valid. www.btwholesale.com

  12. Published Data - Proposal • Step 1 • Update the Postcode to Exchange files by end by 31st January 2008. • Step 2 • All changes to the postcode file will be updated quarterly and notified 1 month in advance of the effective date. • Step 3 • All files will be kept on Our networks website going forward. Old files to be archived. • Step 4 • Distance disputes will be calculated using the data relevant to the period in which the order was raised. • Step5 • All circuits distances will correlate to the distances calculated with input data at the time of order. i.e. where the distances are calculated by Grid Reference input, the distances will remain valid even when postcodes become available. • Step 6 • The ISH SDH node methodology is used for the ISH Extn determination www.btwholesale.com
