This presentation by Eunsun Kim from LG Electronics explores unresolved issues surrounding the use of Resource Location Query Protocol (RLQP) within the TGaf context. Key topics include the necessity of RLQP, the potential for GDC D-STA (Mode I device) to transmit beacons, and the implications of security requirements for initial request frames in TVWS. It advocates for the removal of RLQP from the TGaf draft to improve operational efficiency and proposes allowing GDC D-STA to transmit beacons to enhance service coverage and geo-location accuracy.

Discussion on unresolved issues Authors: Date: 2011-05-10 Eunsun Kim, LG Electronics
This presentation provides • Discussion on the unresolved issues • 1. Need of RLQP • 2. Possibility of GDC D-STA (mode I device) transmitting beacon Abstract Eunsun Kim, LG Electronics
Initial Motivation of the use of RLQP in TGaf • GAS Initial Request frame can be transmitted in pre-association • TGaf defined the interface between the AP and the RLSS in-scope • However, • due to security requirement, any request frame for getting enablement in TVWS must be transmitted after secure association/authentication • GAS Initial Request frame in TVWS cannot be transmitted without association/authentication • STA (mode I device) does not need to take care of the functionality or information beyond the AP(mode II device) • Therefore, propose to remove RLQP from TGaf draft Need of RLQP using GAS Eunsun Kim, LG Electronics
