Cost-Effective Mode Selection and Load Consolidation for Frequent Deliveries in North America

The Michelin North America Research Team, led by Bill Ferrell, is exploring innovative mode selection and load consolidation strategies to minimize transportation costs on frequent deliveries from distribution centers to customers. This research is applicable to any warehouse or distribution center managing numerous shipments to widely dispersed customers, utilizing various transportation modes such as TL, LTL, and parcel. Our goal is to develop an Excel-based tool providing warehouse managers with actionable insights for achieving demonstrable cost savings while adhering to all customer and carrier constraints.
