  1. The Issues with Water management • The bore well in the colony has saline water • There is a need for installation of a solar pump on the larger tank in order to ensure constant supply during power cuts • The condition of taps is poor resulting in high levels of water wastage • The community has proposed that the smaller bore well which is 130 ft deep and under repair could be used for installation of a possible purification system.

  2. Possible Suggestions: • For water management, It is best to improve on what they already have, rather than implement a whole new plan, which would cost a lot more, and also take a lot more time to complete. • Fix up the non-working tank, well , and also the pump, so that more water can be attained for the villagers. • Filter for underground rainwater tank.

  5. Chlorination • Hugely reduces salinity and bacteria infection in water • Easily filtrated out of water in case of too much chlorine

  6. Carbon Filter • Removes chlorine, sediment, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from water. • Ineffective at removing minerals, salts, and dissolved inorganic compounds.

  7. Reverse Osmosis • Removes large molecules and ions • Removes large dirt particles and impurities

  8. Water Storage • As there is two water tanks that are in operation that are supplied from the same bore water source • There is a tank on the eastern side of the town that is out of use along with the water suppling it

  9. Handmade Tank • A tank can be made with a frame and metal shell • With polystyrene insulation • Cost effective • Easily acquired • Stable supports

  10. Manufactured water tanks • Capacity: 1800 or 2000 L • Dimensions: 1200x2000x700 or 825

  11. Underground Water Tanks • Great for limited spaces • Easy to install • Productive use of the flooding water • Water stays cooler due to no direct sunlight • Out of sight • Produced from strong, robust materials
