In this session, students will finalize their Science Fair projects, focusing on problem identification, hypothesis formulation, and understanding variables (independent, dependent, control). They will complete hands-on activities in centers focused on Mass, Length, and Volume, including data collection, bar graph creation, and discussion of findings. Homework will include detailed measurements of household items and reflection on the science concepts learned. Students will turn in answer documents and collaborate on graphic organizers to enhance understanding.

Good Afternoon! Take out science fair timeline and drawings of chemical & physical properties if you have it! Have out science books & journals & loose-leaf paper
Centers Length, Mass, and Volume
Center Directions • Copy the answer document onto your loose-leaf paper • Each center you have a specific set of instructions to follow • Make sure everyone has their own answer document to answer your questions.
Homework • Science Fair-turn in • Problem/question • Hypothesis • Variables-independent/dependent/control • Drawings-chemical & physical properties
Good Afternoon! Turn in Science Fair-Problem, hypothesis, & variables Drawings: Chemical & Physical Properties
Agenda • Finish Mass Center • Data Table Activity • Science World Activity • Homework/Extra Credit
Mass Center • How to measure mass on a scale • Complete the Mass questions on your answer document from yesterday • Wait to go up and measure mass of the 3 objects
When complete with Mass Center • Complete data table activity • Create a bar graph-label x & y axis • Write your answers on a loose-leaf paper • Read each section carefully
Data Table Activity • Create a bar graph to show the number of hazardous household items we use on a daily basis. • Label x & y axis • Create a title for your bar graph • Color the bar graph • Then answer the questions for the bar graph with complete sentences
Science World Activity • Work with a partner • Each student must complete the graphic organizer • Each partner reads a section, discusses, and then completes the graphic organizer • Turn in the inbox when complete!
Extra Credit • Find different items in your home and find the measurement of them. Include length, volume, and mass • Label the item, give the correct measurement using the correct units • Write up to 20 items • Write a procedure of a favorite food you eat- be detailed, draw pictures
