  5. Student Checklist Refer to the checklist of skills and knowledge for each Area of Study Use it to structure your notes and revise prior to an assessment (SAC) Set your learning objectives and strategies

  8. Legal rules vs Non-legal rules Legal rules = LAWS Non-legal rules = norms, all other rules (school, club, association, household) You need to be able to explain the difference between the two (by referring to their different features) and give examples
  9. Different types of laws We can classify laws in many different ways Statute law (a.k.a. legislation, Acts of Parliament, acts) are laws made by Parliament. Subordinate authorities may also make laws (regulations, local laws, by-laws, orders-in-council). VS Common law (a.k.a. judge-made law, case law)
