A model for training health and social care professionals in patient-focused support when the patient is distressed. Emphasizing the importance of listening skills and respect for learners, this workshop aims to cultivate a national community of communication educators. With licensed trainers and a quality assurance program, the initiative provides improved learning packs and resources, supported by an uncloseable infrastructure. Achievements include training 500 individuals in SAGE & THYME, with notable publications and ongoing research efforts. The goal is to combat the misunderstanding of the Y factor.
