  5. Scheduling for 2008-09 • We will schedule for next year assuming that all students will successfully complete all courses they are taking this year.

  7. Senior Schedule • Religion- Social Justice or Peer Ministry • English- English IV or AP English Literature 3. Social Studies- Participation in Gov’t (.5 units) and Economics (.5 units) 4. Math- Next class Ex. Math III to Intermediate Algebra or Math IIIA Math IIIA to Pre-calc, or AP Statistics, or College Algebra Pre-calc to AP Calc, AP Stats • Science- Physics, Science Elective, AP Chemistry • LOTE- Next Level or Elective • Physical Education/ Elective* • Elective(s)

  8. AP Classes • Excellent way to increase the rigor of your college prep program. • College Level Classes. More challenging. More time required. • Can earn college credit based on your score on AP Exam.

  9. Scheduling Process • Group meetings in with Juniors – Now • Elective offerings on Sharepoint. Look on Guidance page under “Tasks”. • Choose 10 Units of Credit (8 classes that you will take and 2 units of alternate courses) • Go into Infinite Campus and choose your classes on-line.

Scheduling process, cont. • Individual meetings with your school counselor- Will start after February break. • At your meeting with your counselor, we will finalize your course selections based upon your interests, your current academic performance, and appropriateness of course placement. • At the end of the year, teachers will make final course recommendations based upon course performance.

  11. Before your meeting with your counselor, please • Go to Sharepoint and choose at least 8 units of credits to fill your senior schedule. Please also choose another 2 units of credit as alternates. • Remember that the rigor of your senior year schedule is extremely important. Colleges want to see that you are gearing up to take on your college studies.

  12. Before your appt with your counselor, cont… • Log onto Infinite Campus. • Go the link for Registration: BK 2008-09. • You will see some classes pre-populated, because all Seniors must take these courses.

  13. Adding Courses in Infinite Campus • Choose COURSE SEARCH • Click GO- A full list of courses will appear that you can choose. When you click on the course you want to add, a brief description on the class will appear. Click on “Request as Alternate”. This will add the course to your list of classes for 2008-09.

  14. Infinite Campus • All classes that you choose in Infinite Campus will be categorized as “Alternates” (including required core courses) until you meet with your counselor. Once you meet with your counselor, all classes you need or want in your 2008-09 schedule will be categorized as “required” or “requested”. Extra “just in case” selections will remain as “alternates”.

  15. The Requirements • Remember you need to take Religion, English, Social Studies, and PE. You are strongly encouraged to take a schedule rich in the core academic areas at the Regents level or higher. ie. Take Math, Science, and Foreign Language even when they are not required.

  16. Other graduation requirements • If you have not already completed your fine arts or health requirements, you need to schedule them in 2008-09.
