  1. Sigma Sigma Phi - Upsilon Annual Report 2012 A.T. Still University - School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona

  2. Executive Board • Secretary/Treasurer • Martin Peters OMS-IV • Vice President • Emily Ochmanek OMS-IV • President • Kevin Patel OMS-IV • Advisor • Dr. Thomas McWilliams

  3. Graduates and New Members 23 senior members graduated this past June. All have matched to various residencies around the U.S. Our chapter inducted 10 OMS-III students during our last induction. We are currently in the process of inducting new members.

  4. Honor Committee • Honor Committee consists of Dean, two faculty members, and four student government presidents • They make recommendations by looking at the following for each inductee: • Academic performance • Community service contributions • Leadership and extracurricular involvement • Commendation from faculty

  5. SSP Membership The second and subsequent inductions have been at the recommendation by the Honor Committee followed by approval by the SSP-Y membership. Voting process by membership is anonymous

  6. Service In order to maintain membership in the SSP-Y, members must commit to at least 80 hours of community service throughout their membership. This results in over 4,000 hours of community service performed NATIONWIDE! They track their service via a web form on the SSP-Y intranet site.

  7. Service Members have logged service hours in a variety of activities, from acting as standardized patients to volunteering at homeless shelters. Members are logging service from Hawaii to Brooklyn, from Alabama to Washington.

  8. Looking Ahead SSP-Y will be electing their new officers in November We are currently holding our 6th election, and will be inducting our 7th class after officer elections in November.

  9. Changes? SSP-Y will be initiating changes in the induction process, once approved by the Honor Committee and current members. Students will be asked to provide more information, and we will be working to make the club more hands-on. We also are considering extending membership to OMS Is and IIs
