  4. Popular Sovereignty Power (of the rule) goes to the PEOPLE!!! Put your fist in the air!And say – “Power to the people”

  5. Republicanism Represent! I vote for someone to represent me and vote for me

  6. Federalism Power was shared between state government and the national government. National or federal state

  7. Separation of Powers Think of a pie! We want each part of the government to have an equal slice! This is a fancy way of describing the three BRANCHES of government!

  8. Checks and Balances Don’t go crazy, someone will put you in check! Power puts a check on power! Or we could say that each branch keeps the other IN CHECK!

  9. Limited Government Government only gets involved when it has to. LimitsBoundariesRestrictions Government is not allowed to infringe on our personal liberties or to interfere with our ability to make a living. "That government is best which governs least." Thomas Paine Remember Jafar? Even an all-powerful genie has limits!
