  2. AP/CP Requirement Changes • Shared Autopsy: 2 maximum • Eliminate “Primary Prosector” • Participate in all aspects of Autopsy • “appropriate to the case”

  3. AP/CP Program Requirement Changes • Autopsy • Recognize that many programs need to have forensic cases count toward the 50 required cases for the ABP • Participation in all 7 aspects of the case will not be tightly adhered to – “participate in aspects appropriate to case” • However, residents will be expected to preview slides on their cases prior to signout

  4. Autopsy Components • Review of History and Circumstances • External Exam of Body • Gross Dissection • Review of Micro & Lab Findings • Written Description of Gross & Micro • Opinion on Cause of Death • Review of Report with Faculty

  5. Future Requirement Addition • Pathology Specific Competencies • (attachment circulated at PRODS meeting)

  6. New Bone Marrow PIF Question If residents do not perform bone marrow aspirations and/or biopsies, how do you ensure that they become familiar with the procedures and the determination of the adequacy of specimens and preparation techniques?
