  2. CTVO’s Roots • The Connecticut Veterans Organization was founded on December 1, 2006 by our three founders, Jason Cap, James Whalen & Joseph Agnello. All Three are still Executive Officers of our Organization. Jason had gotten together with James & Joe, he told them how it was hard for those coming off of active duty to find jobs, and get help with the transition from active duty to civilian life. (next)

  3. CTVO’s Roots (Cont) • Jason, Joe and James decided to begin an Organization to help veterans coming home from active duty find jobs, and housing.

  4. CTVO’s Mission • The Connecticut Veterans Organization helps all veterans, of all ages, find jobs, housing and government benefits that they have earned and deserve. CTVO wants to make sure that we can help as many Connecticut Veterans as we possibly can.

  5. Veterans Assistance • CTVO assists veterans in finding jobs by matching what they want to do and where they want to work with employers that are veteran friendly in there area, in the fields that they want to work in. • One of our officers received a call on a Thursday evening from a bus company that said they are always willing to hire veterans

  6. Veterans Assistance • And where looking for Drivers and Mechanics. On Saturday, another officer received a call from a young man who just came off of Active Duty Navy as a Diesel Mechanic, we made a few phone calls, and he had his interview that Monday. • CTVO also lets out veterans in on all the available benefits that they are entitled to.

  7. Veterans Assistance • CTVO assists new veterans who just came off active duty get unemployment benefits while they are searching for a new job.

  8. Volunteer Help • Volunteers are our greatest asset to help our veterans. All of our members are volunteers, and we do not have any paid staff. Our volunteers help our veterans feel comfortable with our one-on-one support.

  9. Fundraising • We have several fundraisers throughout the year to raise funds. Because all of our services are free, our fundraisers are essential so that we can raise the funds to outreach to our veterans.
