Summer Reading List • The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne • In My Hands by Irene Gut Opdyke • Sold by Patricia McKormick • Impossible by Nancy Werlin • The Fault in our Stars by John Green • Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley • Divergent by Veronica Roth • Monster by Walter Dean Myers • Ship Breaker by Paolo Bacigalupi • Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

  4. AR Test • You must take and pass an AR test on your book. • This will count as a 50 point project grade. • A passing score means an 85% • So if you score an 85% on your AR test, you get 50 points. • If you don’t take a test by January 6th, you will be sent to Interventions every day to read until you finish the book and take the test.

  5. AR Test • If take a test, but get below an 85%, you will get 25/50 on the grade. • You CAN read another book and take another test to raise this grade.

  6. Project • In addition to the AR test for your book, you must complete a project for your book. • You have three options for the project: • Interview • Mobile • Movie

  7. Interview • Conduct a mock interview with a character from the story by composing 10 questions you would like to ask and provide possible answers. • These must be questions that are relevant to the story! • “Do you like pizza?” is not relevant to the story!

  8. Mobile • Construct a mobile of important events and/or characters from the book. You must have at least 5 parts in the mobile with explanation of character and/or event. • Each explanation must be at least a paragraph (5-7 sentences).

  9. Movie • Create a video trailer for the book you read. • Should be between 30 seconds and 1 minute. • Do not ask me how to make a movie! • Animoto.com • Windows Movie Maker • iMovie • A trailer should make me want to read the book!

  10.
