  2. Basic Safety Rules • Safety Glasses • No Running/ Horseplay i.e. flinging pennies • Keep tools and equipment in good cond. Return when done • Appropriate attire • Use the right tool and leave guards in place • No Jewelry

  3. Lifting a vehicle(Jack) • Place jack on structural part of the car • Jack slowly • Use a jack stand • Place handle in upright position

  4. Lifting a Vehicle (Hoist) • Center the vehicle in the bay • Set arms on structural parts • Have instructor check positioning • Lift car six inches from floor and check • When car is at proper height, placed hoist on safety locks

  5. Shop Hazards • OSHA • Asphyxiation • Carbon Monoxide • Fire/Explosion • A fires: Wood and paper • B fires: Gas and oil • C fires: Electrical
