Graduation Requirements for the Class of 2009 • 4 Credits of English • 3 Credits of Mathematics • 3 Credits of Science • 3 Credits of Social Studies: 1 credit of United States History 1/2 credit of Economics 1/2 credit of American Government 1 credit of another social studies course • 1/2 Credit of Physical Education • 1/2 Credit of Health • 1 Credit of Business or Technology or Family & Consumer Science or Fine Arts or Foreign Language • 6 Credits of Electives(any courses over and above the previous requirements become electives.) • 21 Total Credits

College Core: 4 year college or moreDon’t get them confused with high school requirements • 4 Credits of English • 3 Credits of Mathematics (Algebra 1 or higher) • 3 Credits of Science (2 Laboratory) • 3 Credits of Social Studies(no criteria) • 2 Credits of a Foreign Language (same) • 1 Credit of Art (Fine or Applied)

ElectiveSpecial Exception7 course load each semester This exception only applies to students taking their elective 6th course as a foreign language!! • Required course each semester = 5 • Elective course is foreign language = 1 Sub Total 6 • Elective Choir, Instrumental Music, Orchestra or Fine Arts 2 = 1 Total = 7 Logic: Students bound by the 4 year “College Core” would be blocked from taking Choir, Instrumental Music, Orchestra, or Fine Arts 2 (not including art electives). These courses are continued each year of high school.
