Empowering Employment: A Statewide Employer Initiative

Join the Washington Initiative for Supported Employment (WiSe) in promoting employment through a Statewide Employer Initiative. Chart our future by engaging in campaign and marketing strategies, conducting research beyond the social service arena, and aligning with national efforts. Develop an implementation plan for each region in the state, establish a Statewide Job Developer Coalition, and expand connections with organizations like GSI, Priority Spokane, ASTD, and Leadership Connection. Evolve best practices with initiatives like Hire Ability Day, Business Advisory Committee, employer recognition awards, and a toolkit for businesses. Diversify our customers by engaging with businesses and providing training for supported employment professionals. Connect with a national campaign like "Think Beyond the Label" and pilot a Local Speakers Bureau with major businesses in various industries. Together, we are bridging the gap between employers and individuals with developmental disabilities to create impactful employment outcomes.
