  9. Child Labor around the World 246 million children world wide are child laborers . 73 million working children are less than 10 years old. Every year, 22,000 children die in work related accidents. An estimated 1.2 million children — both boys and girls — are moved each year away from their families and put into dangerous and harmful conditions. The highest proportion of child laborers is in sub-Saharan Africa, where 26 percent of children (49 million) are involved in dangerous and hazardous work.
