Prediction • RHSC E – re-vamping morning huddle; • NHS GG & C – testing morning huddle; • RACH – to begin testing morning huddles; • NHS Tayside: • Spread “Capacity, Safety and Situational Awareness” methodology to Maternity Services • Asked to present “situational awareness” to winter planning table top event • To incorporate “family concerns” into new capacity manager post within Medicine • Redesigning complaints process and adding family concerns

Organisational Improvement Capacity • CCHMC – Quality Improvement Education: • Online Modules (all CCHMC employees); • Rapid Cycle Improvement Collaborative (develop team leader’s ability to lead 120-day improvement project using Model for Improvement); • Intermediate Improvement Science (develop intermediate level of knowledge & skill to do & lead improvement); • Advanced Improvement Methods (AIM) (application of improvement science, leadership of projects); • Quality Scholars Program (develop Faculty capability).

Organisational Capacity - Developing SPSPP team improvement capacity • Tayside Children’s Hospital Improvement event – testing reporting template, no more than 8 slides, 8 minutes. • Conversations with NHS Tayside Centre for Organisation Effectiveness re facilitating training and learning support for all four children's hospital sites: • 120 day rapid improvement collaborative / focused on aims of SPSPP; • Involving teams from hospitals across Scotland.

Personal Reflections • One of the best events/visits ever been to in 29 years of health career! • Re-energised improvement knowledge and time out to think from reactive day job • Developed links and networks to other staff in children’s hospitals across Scotland • Brought back and implemented many ideas and spread further that Paediatrics • Asked to present visit experience to NHS Tayside’s Executive Team • Scotland are firmly on the same journey as Cincinnati! • Mid-West hospitality – developed supportive links for SPSPP
