  3. Objectives and Functions of STU To carry out the appropriate system studies while developing the transmission system plans. To plan and facilitate adequate, effective and economical evacuation arrangements within the State of Maharashtra. To strengthen the transmission network in Maharashtra to the optimum requirement to take care of present and anticipated load. To identify the locations where system improvement is required. To prepare five year rolling plan for Infrastructure Development on the basis of system requirement. To carry out the regulatory and co-ordination functions of the STU effectively in accordance with the orders of MERC. To ensure non-discriminatory open access to its transmission system for use by any licensee. To support operations of SLDC for smooth functioning

  4. STU’S FUNCTIONS AS PER STATE GRID CODE REGULATIONS 2006

  5. Functions of STU as per Transmission Open Access Regulation 2005 • System Study for Open Access application • On receipt of an application, the STU shall undertake a system study and within forty -five (45) days from the receipt of application, shall intimate the applicant as to whether open access can be allowed without any further transmission system strengthening.
