  1. Technology convergence- Impact on education, industry And society MADE BY : DEEPIKA OJHA

  2. AIM • The basic aim is that how we can make life Easier and better using the technology. • Today the world is transformed itself into a globalized village .-fusion of technology, desires and views of people.

  3. TECHNOLOGY FOCUS NEAR FIELD COMMUNICATION

  4. TECNOLOGY • TECHNOLOGY is the making, modification, usage, and knowledge of tools, machines, techniques, crafts, systems, methods of organization, in order to solve a problem, achieve a goal or perform a specific function. • In the world where eligibility and flexibility rule the roost no innovations in the digital ecosystem can be effective if not backed up with a robust convergence architecture.

  5. TECHNOLOGY CONVERGENCE • CONVERGENCE in technology is understood by common man in terms of the ability of different network platforms to carry essentially similar kinds of services. It could be a massive interconnection of digital technologies. Now-a-days, the radio and television broadcasts are now feasible via the internet over telecommunication networks and internet services possible through satellite, cable and terrestrial television broadcast networks.

  6. World is Connected by Technology

  7. INTRODUCTION • The history of mankind speaks about the significant role played by industrial and technical revolution in changing the facet of human being from stone - age past to present day civilized society. The Human being, the best creature of God, blessed with the God’s most powerful gift – the human brain, long ago, while interacting with nature realized the power of systematic thinking. The ever-continued process of thinking and experimentation with the nature, led to innumerable scientific breakthroughs in divergent fields. Application of these, in course of time, gave shape to industries, which, in turn started changing the life style of human beings and economy of the society. The present day advancement in technology before us is a result of chain of pain staking research and improvisation process. It is reflected as “sophistication” everywhere – whether it is office automation, household appliances, multimedia and entertainment gadgets or medical equipment where “connectivity” and “touch of a button” ensures the compliance of desired process. This “sophistication” is because of the “convergence” of technologies.

  8. IMPACT • Technology change is mainly effects the origin of • Industry • Education • Society • A diverse change in use of technology proved to be a boon in the society.

  9. IMPACT ON INDUSTRY • Today, convergence is most often discussed in terms of the technologies used in computers, television, and telephony. The focus is the microprocessor in the computer, the broadband delivery capability of television, and the global network, two way interconnections of telephony. Digital technologies cover a range of disciplines generally associated with the computer and telecommunication industries – digital microelectronics, software and digital transmission. Large numbers of powerful digital components were brought onto the market at relatively low costs.

  10. Digitalization of telecommunications and computer equipment has broadened the existing technology base and facilitated the emergence of large-scale communication networks that carry voice, data and images. • Computers in convergence- • Examples- Lenovo ,dell ,hp etc. • Broadband –mts , reliance.

  11. Digital convergence- • Set top boxes- airtel, Tata sky, dish TVs • Internet for convergence- • www-world wide web • Google , yahoo etc.

  12. The most important mobile phones-base of changing human life.

  13. NEAR FIELD COMMUNICATION • Near Field Communication (NFC) is an electromagnetic wireless technology designed to enable communications between two devices. Near Field Communication or NFC is designed to communicate over very close distances • NFC is based on a communication standard that specifies how two devices establish a peer to peer network in order to exchange data. NFC uses electromagnetic radio fields to communicate. This is in contrast to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi which use radio transmissions. However, NFC is compatible with both technologies. It is inherently secure as the distance requirement is so close. Use of NFC is not just limited to phones but now in this technological era we can we can dream to use in the electronics product like credit cards, smart cards. We can here mainly focus on the transferring of information by using near field communication in devices like pen drives credit cards etc.

  14. We can transfer data from one device to another by just tapping the two devices. Like ,in pen drives if this tapping can be possible than we don’t need to go near the computer or laptops to transfer data or exchange data we can easily do it by standing on one place. And same in the case of credit cards also.

  15. IMPACT ON EDUCATION • Due to advancement in technology the style of education and teaching is also changing day by day. • Now the teaching and learning is becoming attractive and interactive. • E-learning is making a great change and transforming education from boring classrooms to interactive learning through internet.

  16. Examples • Educom smart class. • This e-learning also provides training to workers or employees how to work in the new software. • Various e-learning websites are there to teach people in any topic or fields.

  17. IMPACT ON SOCIETY • These technological advancements are also changing the society. People are getting advanced day by day. • The use of internet changing the world day by day. • People are interacting with other peoples and getting information about different lifestyles • E.g.-social media network- facebook , twitter.

  18. Business connections are also getting strong through internets. • Different activities like online banking , shopping • Are also attracting the people towards technology. • E.g.- flipkarts , eBay.com etc.

  19. CONCLUSION • The present day advancement in information technology is leading to a point where various technologies are converging. This convergence of technologies has opened new opportunities in business and infinite possibilities for growth. Many information-based industries are looking for new alliances to strengthen their presence in changing market conditions. Small and medium sized enterprises are playing a major role in providing new employment to influence the world economy, which is increasingly based on creation and manipulation of information. It has benefited the humanity in many ways. However, sociologists wonder what affect convergence and its by products will have on society. Convergence is chaotic so far, and has released new methods of communications. It has revolutionized the concepts of business and today information is the major source driving the world economy. How we gather, manage and use information will determine whether we win or lose.
