What is Datzilla? • Datzilla is a web-based system used to report and track errors against NOAA Source Systems and Data-Products • Datzilla helps Users and Data Managers resolve errors by providing effective communication tools and a structured history of all interactions • Datzilla is derived from the open-source software bug tracking system - Bugzilla

  3. Why is Datzilla Needed? • Data quality is receiving increased attention through the NOAA Data Stewardship Committee • Past methods to report and correct errors were inefficient and ineffective • Data systems are becoming more complex requiring increased agency interaction • Greater expectations of data systems

  4. Who Can Use Datzilla? • Current authorized users.... • National Weather Service • National Climatic Data Center • Regional Climate Centers • State Climatology Offices • Future users.... • All NOAA data centers • Cooperating climate data-user agencies • USDA, USGS, USFS, NPS, etc
