  4. How many of you have a plan for your life? But are they strategic management plans? We would now like to share with you the steps used in developing a strategic management plan. Strategic management planning

  5. Step 1- Initiate and agree on a Strategic Planning Process You have to identify the benefits for having a strategic management plan for your life/organization and the key people to be involved in the drawing up of the SMP. Strategic management planning

  6. Step 2- The Identification of the Organizational Goals • You must identify what goals you want to achieve in your strategic management plan. • to be a goal it must be: Specific, Measurable Achievable Realistic Time bound Strategic management planning

  7. The mission statement sets out how you will achieve your goals. Step 3- Develope a mission statement Strategic management planning

  8. Step 4- You must do a SWOT exercise The SWOT exercise helps you to look at your Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities Threats Strategic management planning

  9. Step 5- the establishment of a vision statement The Vision statement will clearly say where it is you want to be having successfully carried out your strategic management plan Strategic management planning
