AND Bill Ayers and Obama served on the Woods Fund together as paid directors for three years.     Ayers joined the Weather Underground in 1969, but went underground with several associates after the Greenwich Village townhouse explosion in 1970 which killed three members (Ted Gold, Terry Robbins, and Diana Oughton, who was Ayers' girlfriend at the time).     In 2001, Ayers published Fugitive Days: A Memoir. Ayers's interview with the New York Times about his book was published on September 11, 2001, and opens with his statement, "I don't regret setting bombs, I feel we didn't do enough." One year before John McCain achieved freedom, Ayers participated in a bombing of the Pentagon. Soros made his first billion in 1992 by shorting the British pound with leveraged billions in financial bets, and became known as the man who broke the Bank of England. He broke it on the backs of hard-working British citizens who immediately saw their homes severely devalued and their life savings cut drastically in comparative worth almost overnight. When the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997 threatened to spread globally, George Soros was right in the thick of it. Soros was accused by the Malaysian Prime Minister of causing the collapse with his monetary machinations, and he was branded in Thailand as an “economic war criminal” who “sucks the blood from the people.” Right in the middle of this crisis, Soros dashed off his book, The Crisis of Global Capitalism, which demanded a “third way” toward economic stability. Billionaire investor George Soros, once dubbed "The Man who broke the Bank of England," said in a television interview, he was selling dollars in currency markets, briefly adding to the greenback's woes. His comments on CNBC, which came as the dollar was plumbing four-year lows against Europe's common currency and amid widespread doubts about the U.S. commitment to its so-called strong dollar policy, pushed the Euro briefly above $1.17. In the interview in which he assailed Bush administration policies, Soros said he was buying the Euro and the currencies of Australia, Canada and New Zealand against the dollar, as well as gold.
