  3. Motivation • Sea turtles have an important role in the seas and the ocean around the world. Those are: Olive Ridley Turtles, Green Turtles, Hawksbill turtles, Leatherback Turtles, Loggerhead Turtles, Kemps Ridley, Flatback Turtles and Black Turtles. The green sea turtles help keep the seagrass beds short. Healthy coral reefs and sea grass beds are important again for many other types of marine life including fish that are eaten by humans .In Suriname we have the Olive Ridley Turtle, the Green Turtle and Leatherback Turtles.1.) The sea turtles come specially to Suriname to lay their eggs and come back after years in which they were born. 2.) Turtles protection is also important for our tourism. Because tourists pay to see nesting sea turtles, locals can make money from these animals by not hunt but rather to protect. The turtle tourism in Suriname also provides sustainable income(transportation, guides, accommodation and souvenirs).

  4. What you hope to achieve • 1. Organize a turtles expo for students to tell them the value of sea turtles e.g. fishery by caught, sand mining (lost of beach), pooching and beach demining.2. Create short videos or audios that the sea turtles threats faced.3. To create a website or blog with different games, information for various age groups. 4.Hand out flyers at schools to raise awareness of sea turtles and their eggs.

  5. Our Approuch We used the brainstorming tool “De Bono Hats”. Blue Hat (process): We all search for information on Google, books and went to WWF to interview Mr. Hiwat to talk about our ideas. White Hat (facts) Fayeez: The sea turtles visited our beaches to nestle their eggs. Red Hat (feelings) Marja: WWF will found this a good idea and this will be an eye opener for other people. Green Hat (creativity) Picktula: Create an website about sea turtles . Yellow Hat (benefits) Manisha: People will find more information and activities on our website and expo. Black Hat (cautions) Shermila: All the sea turtles will be dying by the predators.

  7. How do we use ict? • An exhibition is meant for everyone of different ages to provide information. We are going to show you an existing video of YouTube about endangered sea turtles. The people can also write the important keywords by using the ICT tool PollEv. In the end they will be tested by the ICT tool Kahoot. • To put a video together we can use an ICT tool named Movie Maker and Video Scribe and we can use Audacity to adapt a song about sea turtles. • We can open a website on Google where everyone can go on it for information and games on different ages about sea turtles. • For creating hand outs flyers we can use Publisher to provide information and Toondoo for a small cartoon.
