It is an easy means to define yourself in the highly important virtual world today. Social Networking sites are designed to cater to people from all walks of life. From students looking to reunite with their classmates to employers looking for skilled professionals, they cater To EVERYONE!!!

How SNS make money • Huge bulk of the money they make are from advertisements • Reason: Companies use them as an avenue to reach out to a vast number of people • A win-win situation for SNS: profit and large user network Money pumped into social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook. My Space Facebook 2008: $300 = $350 million • 2006: $900 million, 3-year deal with Google • 2008: expected to haul in $700 - $800 million, mostly in advertising Xing, a business-contact list service popular in Europe, says its revenue doubled in 2007 — to $30 million, from 2006 — because of premium subscriptions, an e-commerce marketplace and banner ads.
