  6. Project Objectives • Influence decision-makingprocesses in Brussels and in NC:parallel/joint work that requires regular exchange of information. • Ensure long term work : well trained/informed Partners in NC countries

  7. Project Objectives • Ensure financial support for projects developed by project partners with WWF and Hbf. • Illustrate project objectives with field projects

  8. Target Groups EU Institution, EU Delegations, National Authorities in charge of EU approximation Civil society and in particular environmental NGOs General public in the NC and in the EU (depending on policy needs)

  9. Inception period (April 05- Dec 05) • Assess and influence the policy, • Elaborate a fundraising strategy for implementation phase and identify main donors, Aimed to :

  10. Inception period (April 05- Dec 05) • Elaborate a full project proposal defining the project activities, modalities, Aimed to : • Set up the basis of a “project network” building on co-operation between WWF and Hbf “Networks” and their NGO partners in the ENP region.

  15. Inception period Outcomes and Conclusions • Greening the ENP has become a policy approach used by others. • Project was too ambitious (coordination, funding, structure) • It has been replaced by individual and complementary smaller projects (old and new)

  31. To Conclude Decentralised structure is more “friendly” and is open to all, Building networks and promoting policy changes is a slow process

  32. To Conclude But adoption of the ENPI regulation allows for more concrete work and easier access to information This will probably make policy work more “sexy” Next steps to be identified TOGETHER
