  10. We will use the reverse of the 6 step cross-over to do this. 1. Separate the 2 elements or polyatomic ions. 2. Add 1's to elements with no number. 3. Cross-over bottom to top. 4. Add charges- 1st one is +, 2nd one is - 5. Make sure the charges match the expected charges in the PT or PAL. 6. Write the name. Metal stays the same, nonmetal drops its ending and adds -ide. For transition metals, change the charge to roman numerals, place in parentheses following the metal name. [Fe2+ would change to Iron (II) ]
