  9. Sources Of ID Error • When copying an ID by hand • When keying in an ID • when reading a hand-written ID • When taking a telephone message • When receiving a fax or telex massage • When reading a poor photocopy

  10. Serial Numbers • Together with the owner code you buy a series of serial numbers at the BIC.

  11. Check Digit • The owner code together with the serial number gives a check digit which make the ID code unique.
