And now for some poetry… In May of 1960, in the town of Sharpeville, South Africa, police of the Apartheid regime opened fire on a peaceful protest against the Pass laws. 69 black Africans were killed, ten of them children, and a further 180 injured. Many were shot in the back as the fled from the gunfire…

  5. The bitter and brutal conflict between the Protestants and the Catholics of Northern Ireland has plagued the country for centuries. Thousands have died and the struggle continues today as volatile, unruly young men take to the streets, angry, but not exactly sure why…

On the 6th of August, 1945, at 8:15 AM the United States dropped an atomic bomb codenamed “Little Boy” from the plane Enola Gay onto the Japanese city of Hiroshima. 30% of the population were killed immediately, tens of thousands more died later from burns and radiation. The entire city was reduced to rubble…
