  2. Manifest Destiny • John O’ Sullivan created this slogan. • Manifest Destiny- means the westward expansion Louisiana purchase .

Oregon Country • Far to the north and west of Texas, the United States and several other nations vied for the Oregon Country: the land north of California and west of the Rocky Mountains. • Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana are the states in this country . • This country was from The treaty of Washington • The Oregon trail was 2000 mi long it started in Oregon city and ended in Independence, Missouri. It crossed the Mississippi river. • Fifty-four forty or fight was a dispute between Great Britain and the United States over the Oregon country

  4. Texas • Texas won their independence from Mexico and asked to be admitted to The United States. This all begin in 1803 • Stephen Austin asked the Mexican Government to confirm his fathers land grant . When he got conformation he recruited 300 American families to settle in fertile land along the Brazos river and the Colorado River of Texas. • In 1830 the Americans outnumbered the Mexicans. Also they did not follow the Mexican ways .The Mexican government issued a decree that stopped all immigration from the United States.
