  2. EGYPT IS REUNITED After many years of chaos in Egypt Thebes was made the capital in the kingdom which replaced Memphis as the capital city The 12th dynasty was the dynasty that would rule for the rest of the Middle Kingdom DYNASTY Click to see the Next Slide!!!!

  3. THE WEALTH OF EGYPT During this time period Egypt started to expand their trade. This greatly increased the artistic and intellectual life of the people of Egypt. This time period was also referred to as the golden age of literature. The middle class also developed a taste for rare and expensive items that were normally owned by the upper class and royalty.   4. Conquest of Nubia Egypt *Egypt’s war galleys were able to sail through the bypass and conquer Nubia * Senwosnet ordered a channel 250 feet long and 34 feet wide to be able to conquer Nubia Click for the Next Slide!! 

  7. Attack by the Hyksos • Egypt was attacked by Hyksos which means “foreign invaders” • The Hyksos were advanced in military technology, they had chariots and bronze weapons. So, the had no trouble defeating Egypt Click to see the Next Slide!

  8. *The technology of melting tin and copper to make bronze. *They brought in hump-back cattle to plow fields. *They introduced the concept of the potters wheel.
