  3. Company • Who are the players in the company? • Board of Directors • Registered Agents • Officers • General Council • Who are the major competitors?

  4. Landscape • Which Industr(ies) are they a part of? • Apple: Computers, smart phones, tablets, music, software, etc. • What is their legal landscape? • Lawsuits • Patents • What is the market? • Market v Customer (what is the difference?)

  5. Today’s Project • First, as a class we will attempt to answer as many of the questions on the next slide as possible using the free source (EDGAR) then we will break into teams and each group will get a company to research using a “business” and “legal” resource.

QuestionsBeware: You may have to look in multiple sources • Who is the General Counsel or Chief Legal Officer? • What is the NAICS/SIC for the primary industry? • Are there any active lawsuits against this company? • Have the companies revenues been rising or falling for the past 5 years?
