  1. Taking Part Changing Times; Changing Lives • Taking Part is an independent learning difficulty service. We are a registered charity working throughout Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin. • Taking Part provide independent services to people with learning difficulties.   • We want them to;- • Have a voice with more choice • Be more independent • Understand their rights • To be included and treated equally

  2. Taking Part's ethos is person centred, but we believe in a holistic approach working with the person’s wider circle of support. We have experience working with children with projects M&G and Artstart We have experience working with adults with self-advocacy and support planning

  3. At the end of last year we were successfully awarded funding from CDC to run a project helping families with creative support planning and understanding personal budgets. • Between April 2014 and March 2015 we will run 8 half day awareness raising workshops in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin supporting 20 families to each explore whether a Personal Budget would work for their family. • This project would link in with partners and compliment the SEN Reforms and move towards EHCP - which we know are still in their infancy.
