  1. IV-E Eligibility PAW-TAW November 2009

  2. IV-E Automation Background • Federal SACWIS review determined that eWiSACWIS was not fully automated with IV-E Eligibility. • Workers used to select radio buttons for eligibility criteria. Then, based upon the answers to the questions, the system determined the IV-E status. • IV-E automation now looks to areas in the system for supporting documentation for the questions.

  3. Other Changes • Counties no longer have to manually refer IV-E cases to the Eligibility Unit. • Counties used to select “Refer to SEU Regional Manager” on the Eligibility page. • When an initial out of home placement (the removal OHP that starts an episode) is approved in eWiSACWIS, the system automatically sends the IV-E referral to the Eligibility Unit.

  4. Other Changes Continued • When creating an Out of Home Placement, the system now requires at least one parent or guardian to be documented for the child. • Also assists in child support referrals sent to KIDS. • The child’s parent (s) and guardian (s) can be documented on the Parent Info tab of the child’s Person Management record.

  5. Child’s Person Management

  6. Other Changes Continued • The Removal Information tab on the Eligibility page hosts information about those in the removal home. • This identifies who was in the home of the child when the child was removed. • Either complete the AFDC Household Information section OR the CFS-2123T.
