Twitter Explained • Twitter is a social networking site that allows you to answer the question “What are you doing?” • Allows for informal and quick information sharing. • Sends short messages 140 characters in length, called “tweets”, to your friends or “followers”. • Conversational – Similar to sending short, fast emails, IMs, or text messages.

  3. Why is Twitter Useful? • Broadcast New Releases and services. • Library News and Events • Exchange information • Snowing! Reminder that you can check SD road conditions • Interact with patrons or customers. • We are open this weekend and on Monday. In fact we have Discovery Days for the kiddos on Mon and Tues since schools are closed! • Promote social networking sites (blogs, podcasts, etc.) • Rapid City Public Library Strategy UPDATE!
