The Role of Upper-Level Warming in Tropical Cyclogenesis of Typhoons Nari and Chanchau
This research article investigates the upper-level processes influencing the rapid intensification of tropical cyclones, specifically focusing on Typhoon Nari (2001) and Typhoon Chanchau (2006). It examines the establishment and impacts of upper-level warm cores in the genesis of these storms, highlighting how intense vertical wind shear (VWS) interacts with lower-level vortices. The findings demonstrate that upper-level warming significantly contributes to surface pressure falls and storm intensification, underscoring the importance of these processes in tropical cyclogenesis.
