  3. Traditional Learning vs. Acquisition

  4. Language Instinct or Subconscious Learning • Children interpret the language of thoughts automatically: for them image – foreign language word link is direct. • Adults interpret the language of thoughts into native L1 and then into L2 that amounts to cross-translation. • Objective - develop direct links between images and their descriptors (words) in a foreign language.

  5. Solution to the host of problems: • Memorization or skill-based subconscious training • Overcoming the tyranny of the mother tongue • In which language do we think? • Do beginners hear phonemes of English language? • Biofeedback based on the quality of pronunciation • Built-in reading and speaking fluency test

  6. Solution to a host of problems: • Comprehension and self-teaching • Reverse Language Resonance - interactive, dynamic, and integrated with social media • Priming implicit memory by using Word Cloud • Visualization: forming direct links between images and English word blocks.

  7. Integrated spontaneous learning • Word Cloud and priming thelearner’s implicit memory • Self-teaching and guided or cooperative learning • Spontaneous learning – “picking up” English

  9. Do beginners hear phonemes? • Children hear phonemes of all languages • Adults don’t recognize new language phonemes • Accent of adults in EFL is nearly inevitable • Special English and earphones are a must

  10. Support in thenative language • Support in the native language ensures stress-free self-teaching • You may skip this drill and start with speech shadowing • RLR allows the learner to start speaking before acquiring EFL

  11. Research and cooperation • Research and paste any topic • Apply Reverse Language Resonance to your own lesson • Record, measure reading fluencyand share with friends/teacher

  12. Working Toward Mastery Achieve Mastery Get Experienced Proficiency Get Familiar Time Spent

  13. Intellectual Property Protection • Original patent US6341958 issued Jan 29, 2002 • USA Provisional Application filed Dec. 2011 • USA Patent Application published in June 2013 • PCT International patent filed in Jan. 2013

  14. Meeting newer challenges • Pervasive mobile connectivity requires a new learning paradigm • Strategy: viral marketing from bottom up • Revenue streams • Leading companies in EFL market

  15. Patented, to be implemented • Testing active vocabulary and fluency • Scoring learners’ pronunciation of separate words and biofeedback of reading paragraphs • Accent-independent individual voice recognition module –a free gift given with the LBT certificate • The voice-activated authentication system based on individual unique speech patterns
