Lecture Series • February 2003 – Ray Bradbury visits the RWU campus (over VC) to critique a lecture on Fahrenheit 451 • Guest Lecturer (as part of the annual Birss Lecture series) speaking about the novel while Bradbury listened and then commented and answered questions • How the technology came into play • OSHEAN and Internet2 Collaboration

Additional Projects & Partnerships • SEd Virtual Practicum Observation • Entire class observed and discussed classroom management, curriculum, curriculum development, etc. • Remote Teaching (Dr. K. Hall from Geneva doing research) • Preservice teachers at RWU (SEd) and Mid Sweden University partner to discuss different ways in which reading and writing are taught and technology is integrated into the curriculum for elementary students in the two countries.
UN Pathways Program • Learning to bridge the world by gaining a global perspective from global leaders • 4 IHE’s at 5 locations plus the UN • FDU (2 Locations), LHU, Ryder, RWU, UN • Ambassador Kamal, Senior Fellow at UN Institute of Training and Research • Ambassadors spoke to and received questions from students on such issues as women’s issues, global health issues, weapons of mass destruction, and world poverty

Conclusion Our experiences over the past two years leads us to believe that the video technology is being widely accepted and is becoming part of the background tools used to enhance the education experience of our students, build global awareness, and nurture a global community. Our imagination is our only boundary……….
