  2. Victorian Internet

  3. The Instantaneous Highway of Thought The first North American telegraph line was established between Baltimore and Washington, with the inaugural message transmitted on May 24, 1844: "What hath God wrought."

  4. Mindfulness • Mindfulness is a process of intentional attention and observation of the present moment, without judgment. • In a complex, 24/7 global economy we are pulled in multiple directions at a rapid pace, leading to decreased focus, attention, creativity and productivity, thus reducing our ability to be mindful. • Can we leverage mobile technology to RE-MIND us and help us be more mindful?

  5. Mobile/Digital Tools • Technology can be used a reminder and adjunct to mindfulness practice • Tuning in by turning off is also necessary • We are in control, not vice versa

  6. What to Look for in an App • A digital tool for building mindfulness should support you in these three qualities: • Intention • Attention • Action

  7. The Choice is Yours….
