  1. Circulatory and Respiratory system Raul Avila

  2. The respiratory system is a bunch of organs that inhale air from the outside, and exhale the waste that the body doesn’t needs anymore; this process is called breathing. Respiratory System http://www.buzzle.com/articles/human-respiratory-system-functions.html

  3. Nasal Cavity Lungs They give oxygen to cells and exhale carbon dioxide. • Air comes in and out through the nose and mouth. • The nasal cavity has tiny hair called cilia, this hairs filter the air and make it warm. http://www.smm.org/heart/lungs/top.html http://library.thinkquest.org/5777/resp2.htm

  4. Larynx, pharynx & epiglottis Trachea After going through the larynx, pharynx & epiglottis the air goes through the trachea. • When the air comes in passes the pharynx, down the epiglottis until it reaches the larynx, and the other way around when exhaling. • The larynx also known as the voice box, contains the vocal cords. http://www.naturalhealthschool.com/bronchi_trachea.html http://www.translationdirectory.com/articles/article1800.php

  5. Alveoli Capillaries Capillaries take the oxygenated blood to the heart where it’s pumped around the body. • Alveoli are surrounded by capillaries. • O2 transfers from the alveoli to the capillaries, and CO2 diffuses from the capillaries to the alveoli. This process is called “gas exchange” http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/biology/respir.html

  6. Bronchus and bronchiole • A bronchus is a passage of air that divides into smaller tubes called bronchiole. • Bronchioles have an alveoli tied to its end.

  7. The circulatory system makes sure that nutrients, oxygen, water, and other stuff go to the billions of cells in the human body. http://buscoscience.wikispaces.com/The+Circulatory+System Circulatory System

  8. Heart Atria Allows the blood to move into the heart. There's a left and right atria. • Is a muscular organ that is in charge of pumping blood through all the body. • It has four chambers, two upper atrium and two lower ventricle. http://buscoscience.wikispaces.com/The+Circulatory+System

  9. Ventricles Valves They allow blood to flow in one direction. They open and close to let blood pass. • Pump the blood out of the heart. http://www.starsandseas.com/SAS%20Physiology/Cardiovascular/Cardiovascular.htm http://www.youroldticker.com/valvular-heart-disease/

  10. Blood Vessels Veins & Arteries Arteries carry blood away from your heart. The deoxygenated blood is carried back to the heart by the veins. • These are like roads that run all across the body. • They carry blood all around the body • There are three types of blood vessels: arteries, capillaries & veins. http://www.infoplease.com/dk/science/encyclopedia/circulatory-system.html

  11. Plasma Other Components Red Blood Cells: Carry Oxygen from the lungs to the cells, and carry carbon dioxide from the cells to the lungs. White Blood Cells: Fight infection and prevent the growth of cancer. Platelets: Important For clotting blood. When you get a cut, platelets stop the bleeding. • Water • Proteins & Minerals • Platelets The Components of Blood http://www.pennmedicine.org/health_info/bloodless/000209.html

  12. The respiratory system inhales oxygen, and the circulatory system distributes the oxygen to all the cells. • Without one of these system the other one would be useless. How are this systems related? http://www.fi.edu/learn/heart/systems/pulmonary.html
