  2. Ditton Priors Annual Parish Meeting 2007 Agenda • Report from the Chair on the activities of Ditton Priors Parish Council 2006/7 • An opportunity to look at the displays from local organisations • A summary of issues raised through the ‘Issues Board’ • Close of meeting

  3. Parish Plan • Distributed in May 2006 to all households • Steering the work of the DPPC in 2006/7 • An evolving action plan • Environment • Tourism • Employment • Housing • Transport and road safety • Social activities and life long learning • Communication

  4. BDC Local Plan 2006-2011 • Adopted in July 2006 • Confirmed that • Ditton Priors is not a ‘Key Settlement’ • the development site in the centre of the village is therefore not included within the plan • The plan’s objectives are now: • to preserve and enhance the character and appearance of the village • to retain and develop small scale employment opportunities • to maintain the role of the settlement as a centre for local services • to improve the quantity and quality of the open spaces

Quality Parish Council Status Quality Status will allow DPPC to take on additional services and areas of responsibility. • An ongoing project over the past two years • Regular meetings and an annual report • Qualifications of the Clerk • Electoral Mandate • Communications • Newsletter • Website

  6. Traffic and Roads An ongoing dialogue with SCC regarding the conditions of the road in the parish • Keeping DPPC informed • Prompt responses for SCC • Local Speed Limit • Concerns in Station Rd. • Repairs to street lighting • Verges and Road Signs

  7. Collaboration with Oak Farm SCC Highways maintenance contract • Renewed in April 06 • Benefits to the whole community • Road signs • Verges and borders • Minor repair work • The SALC Jan Snell Award • New projects

  8. Working with other village organisations Contributions made this year:- • The Village Hall car park • Support for DPPFA with grant applications • Annual maintenance of the Church Clock • Churchyard maintenance • Citizens Advice, Samaritans, Relate

  9. Working with other communities Toposcope A joint project with Aston Botterell, Cleobury North and Burwarton Parish Council and The Abdon Parish Meeting The vast majority of the work being done by Hugh Scurfield and Jayne Madeley

There will be a brief summary of these at the close of the meeting. The minutes from last year’s meeting are available for you to read if you wish, if no objections are raised these will be signed at the end of the meeting.
