The Young Workers of Fiji Trade Union Congress (FTUC) is launching a one-year project starting August 2007, aimed at promoting decent work and enhancing memberships among youth leaders. Each year, 12,000 students graduate in Fiji, with only 2,000 securing jobs in the formal sector. This project addresses the urgent need for training in socio-economic policies and decent work standards for 80 youth leaders, including 30% women. Funded by ILO and UNDP, the project will strengthen trade union advocacy and empower young workers to become informed leaders.
