  2. Agenda • Agenda Bashing • RFC2669/2670 Advancement - StJohns • Subscriber Management MIB - StJohns • BPI MIB - Informational - Woundy • DOCSIS/EuroModem Harmonization - Woundy • DOCSIS DHCP - Woundy • Other Status - StJohns • Wrapup - StJohns

  3. RFC 2669/2670 Advancement Changes/Modifications to MIBs for IPv6/SNMPv3 compliance

  4. RFC Advancement - CD MIB • docsDevNmAccess - Deprecated in favor of coexistence document. • Need to determine whether interface access control necessary (docsDevNmAccessInterfaces) • docsDevSwServer, docsDevServerDhcp, docsDevServerTime, docsDevServerTftp, docsDevEvSyslog - Deprecated and replaced by IPv4orV6 typed objects

  5. CD MIB (cont) • docsDevEvThrottleAdminStatus, ...ThrottleInhibited, …ThrottleThreshold, …ThrottleInterval - Deprecated in favor of Notifications MIB • docsDevFilterLLCIfIndex, docsDevFilterIpIfIndex - Deprecated, replaced by interface bit mask and convenience objects • docsDevFilterIpContinue - Obsolete (?) Discuss

  6. CD MIB (cont) • Added optional table to AUGMENT docsDevFilterIpTable - IPv6 addr/mask objects • Added optional table to mirror docsDevCpeTable for IPv6 • Various language tweaks and corrections • Target: Internet Draft by 10 April 2000

  7. RF MIB • docsIfCmtsCmStatus - Deprecated, replaced by IPv4orV6 typed object • Need nominations for Counter64 objects • docsIfCmServiceTxSlotsImmed, …Ded? • docsIfCmtsCmStatusUnerroreds, …Correcteds, …Uncorrectables? • docsIfCmtsServiceInOctets? • Minor text tweaks • Target: Internet Draft by 10 April 2000

  8. Subscriber Management MIB M StJohns W Sawyer

  9. Subscriber Management • Background • Documents • MIB Structure • DOCSIS Changes

  10. Background • CMCI - Changes to support “host based” or CPE Controlled Cable Modems (CCCM) • Changes security model • Moves point of control to CMTS • CM no longer trusted device

  11. Documents • Subscriber Management MIB • Changes to DOCSIS CMCI • Changes to DOCSIS MAC • Support identification of CCCM modems • Support poison pill - hardware enforced shutdown of designated modems • Changes to config file • Additional TLVs to identify CMTS enforced filter sets

  12. Subscriber Management MIB - Structure • docsSubMgtCpeControlTable controls the population of subscriber host addresses behind a CM. • docsSubMgtCpeIpTable lists the CPE addresses which the CMTS believes exist or are permitted behind a CM. • docsSubMgtPktFilterTable specifies filtering criteria which can be applied to packets destined to or originating from a CM • docsSubMgtTcpUdpFilterTable augments docsSubMgtPktFilterTable with optional TCP or UDP port filtering criteria. • docsSubMgtCmFilterTable binds a CM to a filter set.

  13. Subscriber Management MIB • Registration TLV Support for upstream/downstream CM and CPE filter sets • Requires change to CMTS TLV MAC mechanism • Additional items to be added: • CCCM enrollment control • CCCM poison pill • Others? • Possible migration to CMTS centric provisioning? • LDAP Configuration store?
