History • Originally build as the United States Science Pavilion during the 1962 Seattle World's Fair • Upon closing ceremonies, the Science Pavilion was given new life as the private not-for-profit Pacific Science Center, becoming the first U.S. museum founded as a science and technology center.

  3. Mission Pacific Science Center is as committed as ever to serving our community and being an engine for creative and critical thinking for our region. We know that science can inspire hopes and dreams and through our award-winning legacy programs and exciting new projects, we are creating experiences that spark creativity and stimulate inquiry.

Education for Teachers Leadership and Assistance for Science Education Reform (LASER) has the vision to assist school districts with the implementation of an ongoing, inquiry-based K-12 science program. Crucial components being: • Inquiry-centered • Researched-based instructional materials • Regular professional development for all teachers and administrative staff • Appropriate materials support • Effective student and program assessment • Wide community and administrative support

Science on Wheels • Pacific Science Center's Science On Wheels program is proud to enhance science and math learning in schools and community events across the Northwest. • From a 40-minute science show to a full day experience. • From school days to evening events to weekend venues, see what Pacific Science Center has to offer to schools, preschools, PTA evenings, science fairs, scout groups, camps, libraries, after school programs, fairs and more

Camps and Field Trips Camp-In • Imagine roaming the exhibit halls after everyone else has gone home, falling asleep beneath a Tyrannosaurus Rex and awakening to a laser light show and IMAX film. • At Camp-In you'll enjoy a private, after hours experience where you can explore everything Pacific Science Center has to offer, including a hands-on science workshop, live stage show and planetarium show presented by Pacific Science Center's enthusiastic, knowledgeable and entertaining education staff. Summer Camps • Pacific Science Center camps provide the perfect opportunity to explore, experiment and discover! With over 55 camps to choose from at five different locations, we have something for everyone. • Our exciting and enriching camps, designed for children in kindergarten through grade 12 offer hands-on science experiments, fun and challenging projects as well as unique and innovative learning experiences that will create life-long memories and inspire the inner scientist in your child.
