  3. Compendium of Population Health Indicators (COPHI) • APHO contracted to produce new website to replace nchod • Beta test website live since late 2010. It is more flexible, and will enable users to save favourite indicators. • Currently contains some test data – note the warning to use old site for data. • Website includes a survey for your comments to be taken into account before full launch.

  4. APHO Practice Profiles • “Soft” launch late 2010 • Currently in beta testing. Idea is to get as many primary care colleagues to see them before full launch in February /March – please share with as many primary care / commissioner / GP colleagues as you can • Website includes a survey – please complete • There are 158 practice level indicators • However, all rates are crude – bear this in mind when interpreting • Includes feature to create clusters and cluster profiles, along with being able to compare a practice to its cluster • http://www.apho.org.uk/pracprof/

Derbyshire JSNA profiles • EMPHO were asked as part of the SLA with Derbyshire County PCT to produce area profiles for their JSNA • A profile was produced for each local authority in the county, using consistent data for the “life course” page and then locally selected sub-LA data presented for local priorities

ChiMat Child Health Profiles • 4 page health profiles similar to the APHO local authority profiles • Spine charts, key messages, etc • Drafts currently with leads for children in local PH teams • Finalise ?end Jan and onto ChiMat website as part of their v. extensive set of comparative data on child and maternal health • http://www.chimat.org.uk/ • Support to CYP JSNA • To promote good practice in the use of information and research in CYP JSNA • To identify appropriate feeder information sources • To assist local teams in sharing approaches and avoiding duplication • Outputs • A web-based resource pack of guidance/tools to inform CYP JSNA. • CPD events and/or a support service re the above.

  9. Trent Cancer Registry First up …. The Cervical Screening and Cancer e-Atlas • Commissioned by the Cervical Screening Programme • Brings together registry data and screening data • UK Cancer Intelligence Service • Information Centre’s annual cervical screening bulletin

Data Available • Coverage 3.5 and 5 year intervals; 1997/98 to 2009/10 for 25-64 target age groups • Timeliness of results; % of women tested with test available to PCO within 2 and 4 weeks of test; 2005-06 • Results; percentage of tested women with either a negative, mild borderline cell changes and moderate to severe cell changes – 1997/98-2009/10

Data Available • Incidence and mortality data for various age break downs relating to screening target age groups; 1995-2008 • Relative Survival – 1 year – 1995-1997 to 2005-2007; 5 year – 1990-1992 to 2001-2003; at SHA level • On the double map, option to plot deprivation measure – income score at PCT level – with the different statistics.

Profile of Cervical Cancer in England: Incidence, Mortality and Survival • Commissioned by the cervical screening programme • Data from the UK Cancer Intelligence Service • National trends over time – incidence halved and mortality reduced by almost two thirds since the Cervical Screening Programme began in 1989 • Comparisons at SHA and Cancer Network level

Clinical Information Analysis Reports • Not in the public domain • Six reports – Breast, Colorectal, Gynae, Lung, Upper GI and Urological cancers for the PCTs and Cancer Networks within our region • Pulls data together from a wide variety of data source and presented to reflect patient pathway • Referrals, Incidence, Stage, Surgery, Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy, patient flow maps, Survival (some sites), Place of death • 2008/09 reports – Survival analysis for more sites. Survival by stage. Post op mortality

Useful for commissioners, shows at PCT and Cancer Network level where resources are being used. • Presents variations across the region in workload and how patients are being treated or referred. • Presents information to clinicians on outcomes for their patients; survival, survival by stage and post op mortality

  21. Attending the site specific groups meetings in the cancer networks to gain feedback and comment on the reports • Future versions will reflect this feedback and evolve to meet the needs of NHS health professionals

  23. APHO JSNA small area datasets • Originally developed for JSNA purposes • They cover a range of health profiling and can be used for other needs assessment activities. • Data produced at the smallest level consistent with reliability, robustness, completeness, and confidentiality.

  24. JSNA datasets: geographical coverage • The smallest geographical area used in the datasets is the MSOA • The indicators are also provided for the following higher geographies: • Lower tier LA/ UA • Counties • Primary Care Trust (PCT) • Region/SHA • England

European Health Profiles • Produced as part of the I2SARE project (Health Inequalities Indicators in the Regions of Europe) – coordinated by the French Regional Health Observatories in collaboration with partners in each EU country • Profile produced for every region in the EU • Profiles were initially published on 14.12.10. However, errors were identified in a number of English regions so were withdrawn. • Updated profiles due January 2011. • http://www.i2sare.eu/

Health Inequality Indicators for Local Authorities • APHO are reproducing the Slope Index of Inequality indicator that was previously used as the WCC Inequality indicator. • The indicator has now been produced for all local authorities in England (District, County, UA) for 2005-09 data • These have been published 12.01.11 (today!) • PCT data for 2005-09 to follow, along with LA data for previous years 2001-05 onwards. • http://www.apho.org.uk/default.aspx?RID=96930
