This study presents a novel variational cloud-decontamination prototype that integrates the measurement of partially cloudy spectra observed by the IASI (Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer). It outlines the method for retrieving clear component spectra by combining linear approximations of clear and cloudy components. Furthermore, it assesses the atmospheric parameters derived from decontaminated spectra. The methodology is demonstrated with measured spectra from four IASI fields of view, enhancing the accuracy of atmospheric analysis in cloudy conditions.

Measured spectra for the 4 IASI fields of view are given as input of the cloud-decontamination process, which provides the clear component spectrum, and the corresponding retrieved atmospheric parameters.
